"Excellent - it was a pleasure and a joy to be a part of this class. The program was thorough, well presented, supportive and flexible to student needs."

Composite Physical Health (SF-36)
Composite Mental Health (SF-36)
Vitality (SF-36)
Time Competence (POI)
The self-actualized person is primarily time competent meaning this person can tie the past and future into the present in meaningful ways. Participants demonstrated remarkable change. They showed significant progression into present moment living. A characteristic of a person who makes this progression is that they are less burdened by the past and more realistic about the future.

RESEARCH

In 2003, Creating Health International partner and program co-author, Stephanie Stanfield, evaluated the specific health benefits of the COHMI Core program (then called Creative Healing Level 1) as her dissertation for her Ph.D. Her study explored the link between an educational program of mindbody integration and measurably improved health.
Ninety-six people initially responded to an invitation to participate in the study. Of the 22 health categories evaluated, 19 showed a statistically significant improvement at the completion of the program.

The research question was "The Effects a Transformational Educational Program Composed from the Science of the Mindbody Continuum has on the Overall Health of Participants."

Abstract

This study is designed to explore the link between an educational program of mindbody integration and the measurably improved health of participants. The subjects were 73 people drawn from the general population. The subjects were equally and randomly divided between a control group and a participant group. Pretest data of the Short Form 36 (SF-36) and the Personal Orientation Inventory (POI) were collected prior to participation in the Creative Healing program; posttest at the completion of the program. In addition, correlations between measures and subjective evaluations were analyzed for content to further understand the relationship between health and mindbodyspirit integration.
The participant group attended the Creative Healing educational program of 3 classroom hours per week for 12 weeks. The control group was able to attend the program upon project completion.
Findings indicate that although in the majority of the categories, there was no significant difference between the groups at the onset of the project, significant differences were recorded in the groups upon program completion.
The results obtained supported the research hypothesis that the intentional integration of mind, body and spirit measurably improves the health and quality of life of a person who is experiencing a delayed recovery or a chronic state. Implications are that a chronic condition may be the result of a person lacking a sense of time coherence (not being in the present moment), mindbodyspirit lacking integration, or of mindbodyspirit not being in congruence with each other.
